Our soul is the center that contains our true thoughts and feelings. Therefore, maintaining a
sense of balance is crucial in every facet of our lives.
Religious
leader David O. McKay taught, “The greatest battles of life are fought out
daily in the silent chambers of the soul”.
Therefore, in any venture we undertake
the true investments rest on the state of our souls. In reality, we need to
embrace that which gives us credence.
Just like a picnic, as summarized in my poem, our souls work
with the times;
A picnic in time:
Behind those faces, lights are traveling;
Behind those faces, days are longing;
Rest on our shoulders, we came to be;
Hens are crowing, in line with dawn.
As we all venture,
To a passing new day,
We get to work hard,
We get to play hard,
Oh Lord, bless our conquer;
On a brighter new day
See rose blooming,
As
the sun is smiling,
On a latter day, the rain is dropping,
In a vase so blue, come yesterday,
On a vine of grapes,
We sail adventure.
As we rest ashore
To a coming new night
The stars are blinking
To a passing moon
We get to laugh hard
We get to sing aww
Oh Lord, bless your heart
On a twinkling bright night
In essence,
if you don’t venture, you won’t enjoy the adventure.
